Course Overview

Principles of Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing 1 & 2

Have you ever wanted to build a house? Students will learn entry level skills in construction, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC along with safety procedures and use a wide variety of tools to perform basic operations with plastic piping, wood, and wiring. Operations include measuring, cutting, and joining. Students will learn to apply mathematical concepts to solve HVAC, electrical, and plumbing problems. Students will have the opportunity to earn the PACT HBI core certificate along with OSHA 10 Safety.

Advanced Principles of Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing 3 & 4

Are you considering a career as an electrician? HVAC technician or plumber? Students will learn practical applications of electrical theory and techniques used by licensed electricians, exploration of OSHA’s electrical safety-related work practices, and how they are applied to the work environment. Students will also gain advanced knowledge and skills needed to enter the industry as HVAC and refrigeration techs, and building maintenance techs and supervisors. Students will also gain the advanced knowledge and skills needed to enter the industry as an apprentice plumber or prepare for a post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering.

Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing Internship

This course is designed to prepare students to enter the workforce through on-the-job training in the form of an internship combined with class instruction. Training in class will continue with release time for the internship as coordinated by the instructor. Students may have the opportunity to learn their skills in supervised practical experience while on the job.
